Sellers description:
From 2/1/2012:

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster (Chassis No. 673294) is a numbers matching car as verified by a Jaguar Heritage certificate, and is the recent result of an extensively documented restoration while owned by the seller. The car is finished in Pacific Blue with red leather, black top and side curtains. The color combination is striking, and the seller tells us that the condition is every bit as good as it looks in the photos, with strong attention to detail. It is available in Black Mountain, North Carolina for $90k.

Every nut and bolt rebuilt or replaced with correct parts according to the seller, who says the car is very tight and handles nicely. He calls the body and paint work flawless and the body very straight. He purchased the car from an estate, and the widow of the former owner says that the car came from the Midwest in the 80′s. Not much more is known.

The following numbers are seen on the data plate as shown in the album below:

Chassis 673294
Engine W-6836-8
Body F 5337
Trans. JL

The red interior is beautifully restored to original specifications. A new top and side curtains and tonneau cover were also part of the restoration.

The original engine has been totally rebuilt, and the seller says that the trans and rear end are perfect as well. He tells us that the car runs very strong and shifts smoothly through all gears, and he has not experienced any overheating in any driving conditions.

Numbers-Matching 3.4-Liter Inline-Six

4-Speed Manual

Red Leather Interior

Rebuilt Water Pump

Newer Brake Master Cylinder

Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster is finished in blue over a red leather interior and is powered by a numbers-matching 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The seller acquired the car through a BaT Exclusive listing in 2012 and has since added approximately 500 miles. Under current ownership the car has received new exhaust manifolds, studs, and gaskets, as well as a new brake master cylinder, front wheel cylinders, cam cover gaskets, a rebuilt water pump with a new housing, and more detailed below. This XK120 is offered with a tonneau cover, top, side curtains, records from current ownership, a Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

Previously finished in silver, the car was repainted blue under prior ownership and is fitted with rear wheel spats. A removable top, black tonneau cover, and a pair of side curtains are included, and close-up photos of the trim and lenses are provided in the image gallery.

Body-colored steel wheels are fitted with Jaguar-branded hubcaps, chrome trim rings, and Firestone whitewall tires. A new hubcap center badge was installed by the seller.

The cockpit is upholstered in red leather with a matching dash, carpets, and door panels. The turn signal flasher and fuel level sender were replaced under current ownership.

A factory four-spoke steering wheel fronts a suite of Smiths instrumentation, including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with a nested clock, and fuel level, amperage, and water temperature gauges. Around 47k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer.

The 3.4-liter twin-cam inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory-rated at 160 horsepower. Since acquiring the car in 2012, the seller has rebuilt the water pump with a new housing, performed an oil change, and replaced the exhaust manifolds and gaskets, cam cover gaskets, thermostat, and tachometer drive seal. Engine block stamping W-6836-8 matches the number shown on the data plate on the firewall.

The brake system was serviced with a new master cylinder, flexible hoses, front wheel cylinders, and front brake shoes. The car was also fitted with new rear axle limit straps and buffers. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery, along with an invoice from the work in 2016.

The side curtains are accompanied by red leather carrying cases, and a matching Firestone whitewall spare and factory jack are also housed in the trunk.

An included Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the original colors and engine number.
