I aquired the vehicle on 1/11/05 from Colin Keith of Sunderland who spent three years refurbishing the car. Full engine rebuild , bare metal repaint , and new interior fitted. Mods include Coopercraft brakes,Kenlowe fan, alternator, power steering and twin s/s exhausts.

Car was at auction in '08
www.classicauctions.co.uk/lotdetail.php

Auction description:
Lot : 25
1957 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Litre Fixed Head Coupe
SOLD for £25300
Mileage: 87581
Colour: Carmen Red
Trim Colour: Maroon
Chassis No: S824103DN
Engine No: V2001-8
Registration No: TWP 919
M.O.T: May 2009

Finished in Carmen Red with maroon leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, four-speed manual plus overdrive gearbox, electrical equipment, chassis, bodywork and paintwork (while, he rates the interior trim and wheels / tyres as "excellent"). Reportedly "an original right-hand drive car", 'TWP 919' is further understood to benefit from power steering and uprated Coopercraft brakes. Riding on new chrome wire wheels shod with fresh Vredstein tyres, the Jaguar is said to be "a superb driver". A tempting proposition, this well presented XK150 is offered for sale with "original logbook" and valid MOT certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
