This car is mentioned in a letter to the XK Bulletin December 1976 from the owner seeking information about its history.
He stated that the registration number was "VNM 150" first registered 23.6.1958. Engine number was given as V4211-8. There was a photo of the car at XK day 1975.

Odometer 86,921 Miles
Engine size 3442
Seller Type Private
Location Devon
Country United Kingdom
Only two previous keepers
Fixed Head Coupé
Only 4,445 made
- V5c present
- Heritage certificate
Built November 1958, the car has spent most of its years in Sussex before reaching its current dwelling in Devon. Not much is known about its history prior to its current life. It was purchased by the current owner with the ambition of carrying out a restoration but circumstances have changed.
The Interior
- Solid floor
- Tan leather seats
- Original dials, switches and dash
Inside the car seems in fair order but with some sign of wear. The front tan leather seats have a few blemishes but the rears look good, as do the carpets. The leather dash is also in fair condition but the surrounding trims could do with a little attention. Like most early Jaguars, inside its a very nice place to be and with the right ownership perfection
The Exterior
- British racing green paint
- Restoration required
- Rechroming required
- Blemishes are present and pictured
The XK150 is an undeniably beautiful, masculine car with beautiful curves and sporty stance, the British Racing Green paint is a fitting colour and a nice accompaniment to the tan interior however it is in need of restoration. Blemishes, bubbles and cracks are noticeable throughout the British brute but that doesn't take away any of its attraction.
The Mechanics
- History unknown
- Non start
- 3442cc inline six
The vehicles did not start during our visit. The current owner thinks it could be a fuel related problem as it has been sitting around for sometime. Unfortunately there is no history present with the car so knowledge of past work is unknown. The engine does turn over with the owner noting that it ran well at an XK70 event 4 years ago.
Summary
A chance to get your hands on a XK150 project which we think has a more than solid foundation. With a little time and energy this great car can soon be racing down B roads just like it did in Le Mans.
