Additional information from Coy's 4/12/04 auction:

    True Greats
An Important Auction of British and Continental Sports & Touring Cars, Toys, Models and Automobilia
    Saturday 4th December 2004
    Lot 263 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
    Registration no: MYC 909
    Chassis no: 660610
    Estimate: £18,000-22,000
The example on offer today is a genuine matching number right-hand drive roadster, manufactured on the 15th January 1951, making it one of the early steel bodied cars. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage certificate that comes with the car confirms that it was supplied new through Henley's of London. The current owner states that car was restored in the late eighties, and as such the restoration has has time to mellow giving the car a particularly fine patina. Sitting on steel wheels and spats this thoroughly elegant car is finished in British Racing Green with matching green hide interior. Further inspection of the car's V5 logbook shows that it has had just two recorded owners since its registration on the 9th February 1951. A charming example, described by the vendor in good condition throughout it remains one of the most popular all round sports cars of the early post war era.

    Car returns to auction 12/10

    Auction description:
TRUE GREATS, Royal Horticultural Halls, London
    Tuesday 7th December 2010
    Royal Horticultural Halls
    Elverton Street, Westminster, SW1P 2PE
    1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
    Lot 721
    Registration Number: MYC 909
    Chassis Number: 660610
    Estimate: £45,000 - £55,000

The example on offer today is a genuine matching number right-hand drive roadster, manufactured on the 15th January 1951, making it one of the very early steel bodied cars. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage certificate which comes with the car confirms that it was supplied new through Henly's of London. The previous owner states that car was restored in the late eighties, and as such the restoration has had time to mellow giving the car a particularly fine patina. Sitting on steel wheels with spats enclosing the rears, this thoroughly elegant car is finished in British Racing Green with suede green hide interior. Further inspection of the car's V5 logbook shows that it has had just three recorded owners since its registration on the 9th February 1951.

Purchased by the current vendor in December 2004 from COYS True Greats sale the car has travelled some 6000 exhilarating miles in the hands of Charles Howard of Gloucestershire, that well known and well regarded expert in classic and historic cars. During this period the car has benefited from consistent and regular maintenance with many bills and invoices from specialist garages. The car has had new tyres and a new fuel tank, and an engine rebuild; in the course of this the head has been re-worked to run on modern unleaded fuel.

This is a wonderful car, driven with great enjoyment by COYS and in our opinion one of the finest running XK120s we have offered for sale in recent times. The car comes complete with UK V5, MOT until April 2011 and the aforementioned history file with bills and sundry invoices.
