Note the engine number (not original) is given for the chassis number in the auction description.
Auction description:
1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
Lot No 348
Registration Number: TBA Chassis Number: W6788-8
The example on offer here is a 1954 model which has recently undergone a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic overhaul, which included a total engine rebuild with a new 020/020 thou crankshaft regrind, new inlet and exhaust valves and timing chain. In addition, a new clutch and pressure plate have been fitted, the carburettors have been fully rebuilt, the car has been comprehensively rewired, and the original suspension system has benefited from the addition of new Koni shock absorbers fitted to the rear of the car.
Cosmetically, the car has been equally pampered, recently undergoing a full rotisserie restoration in which it was stripped back to bare metal before being reassembled with new cadmium-dipped bolts and washers, before being completely repainted using genuine Dupont paint. All decorative items on the car were either re-chromed or replaced with parts from leading Jaguar specialist SNG Barratt of Shropshire.
Finished in an attractive black with a fully re-trimmed biscuit leather interior complemented by a new Moto-Lita wood rim steering wheel, the car is offered in excellent condition throughout and is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. An excellent example of this beloved icon of classic British engineering.
