Car to be at auction 11/12
www.silverstoneauctions.com/1954-jaguar-xk120-drophead-coupe

Auction description:
NEC Classic Motor Show Sale
1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
Lot No.: TBA
Registration: XKV 120
Chassis Number: 667289
Engine Number: F3605-8
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 3442cc
Year of Manufacture: 1954
Estimate (£): 60,000 - 70,000

This 1954 model, Chassis No 667289, Engine No F3505-8, originally registered PGH 600 and sold in Black, came to the present owner, a garage owner in his own right, in 1993 as a partially completed rebuild. Some ten years earlier, an extensive 'nut and bolt' bare-metal rebuild was begun, including a complete engine overhaul and new clutch. The car comes with a photographic album of the body rebuild.

The car now sports Old English White paintwork, with red leather interior and walnut dashboard. It has been lovingly cared for and clocked only 350 miles since the rebuild was completed in 1993. The car comes with with a full 12 months MoT and a host of past MoT certificates suggesting the mileage to be correct.

This XK120 is offered complete with the current registration 'XKV 120' - surely the perfect plate of choice to any self-respecting XK120 owner!
A most desirable make and model enhanced by an enviable registration plate - this car has already had the obligatory rebuild and is now in need of a modicum of light recommissioning having been largely unused for the past 29 years. It would seem that a very modest amount of attention would see this car back into front line condition throughout.

A late XK120 Drophead Coupé WITH registration 'XKV 120', 12 months MoT sold in good running order and offered with a modest estimate...What's not to like?!

Car to return to auction 7/13

Silverstone Classic Sale
1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
Lot No.: TBA
Registration: XKV 120
Chassis Number: 667289
Engine Number: F3605-8
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 3442
Year of Manufacture: 1954
Estimate (£): 50,000 - 55,000
This 1954 model, Chassis No 667289, Engine No F3505-8, was originally registered PGH 600 and sold in Black and came to the present keeper, a garage owner in his own right, in 1993 as a partially completed rebuild. Some ten years earlier an extensive 'nut and bolt' bare-metal rebuild had begun, including a complete engine overhaul and new clutch. The car comes with a photographic album of the body rebuild.

The car now sports Old English White paintwork, with red leather interior and a walnut dashboard. It has been lovingly cared for and has clocked around only 400 miles since the rebuild was completed in 1993. The car has a current MoT and a host of past MoT certificates suggesting the mileage to be correct. The powerful engine starts very much 'on the button' and runs as sweet and true as it would have done some fifty nine years ago!

This XK120 is offered complete with the highly sought-after registration plate 'XKV 120' - surely the perfect plate of choice to any self-respecting XK120 owner! This rare ensemble gives both car and plate added value- a combination that will turn heads wherever she goes. A most desirable make and model enhanced by an enviable and irreplaceable registration plate that would have a value running into the thousands itself...

This late XK120 Drophead Coupé WITH registration 'XKV 120', current MoT and sold in fine running order is an appreciating asset- offered with a modest estimate - she deserves full and serious consideration to buy.

Car returns to auction 7/14

Estimate (£): 75,000 - 90,000

This 1954 model, Chassis No 667289, with evocative 'XKV 120' registration number was previously sold by Silverstone Auctions in good running order, albeit, suffering from the ravages of time and sporting white coachwork from its first restoration in 1993. Now fully repainted, and indeed, again fully restored, the original Black paintwork has been replaced being as it is expertly applied to a high standard. Owned from 1993-2013 by a garage owner in Northamptonshire, it joined the Molino Collection in July of 2013 where upon it has been lifted back to its former glory. The car was fully stripped, the interior restored to a very good standard, the body painted as mentioned, and the engine fully serviced. Some £25,000 has been invested in this car in just 12 months to bring it to this standard, and importantly, to future-proof the lifetime of this car.

A very tractable and usable period sportscar, the XK120 remains one of the most sought and desired models from Jaguar.
