This car is mentioned in a letter to the "XK Bulletin Oct 1975" from the owner, Neil Dangerfield of Jersey, Channel Islands. He stated that the car was first registered in June 1953, number MWR 777, engine number W8509-8. and re-registered on arrival in Jersey as J 3035. He concluded by saying that the car was on loan to the Jersey Motor Museum, the engine being rather tired.

I owned this car in about 1982/3 when I lived in Jersey. Bought from a dealer I understood it came from a private collection owned by a Jersey senator. I sold it to a dealer in the Portsmouth/Southampton area keeping the number J 3035 for some years.

Additional info, when I had the car it was Cream with Red interior and had solid wheels not wires and the rears had the body coloured spats. Engine was fine but inner wings and door bottoms were shot.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
