Auction description;
1952 Jaguar XK 120
VIN: 672743
1952 Jaguar XK120, Factory built racecar. Restored by the noted British Leyland restorer David Hetzel approximately five years ago. The engine and transmission were prepared by Jaguars Limited of San Luis Obispo. A pictorial record of the restoration comes with the car. The Halibrand magnesium wheels are not original to the car, as this Jaguar car raced with factory steel rims. David's research found that the wheels currently on the car were in the Halibrand catalog in 1952. David commissioned Halibrand to build a set from original C&C specs at a cost of $2,000.00 per wheel. The car raced in the fifties and sixties in Southern California unfortunately much of the race history was lost due to David's untimely death, and the current owner has not researched do to his impossible schedule. A very fine restoration by an expert restorer for his own use. Race or drive on the street, a truly unique opportunity to own a legend in motor racing.
