This 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster was refreshed in 2018 and 2019 with a repaint and an interior overhaul, and it has since been kept in storage apart from roughly 100 miles of driving. The car is finished in Old English White over red leather, and it is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes auxiliary driving lights, 16″ steel wheels, Smiths instruments, and dual SU carburetors. The vehicle was acquired by the seller in 2025, and its brake system was serviced in May 2025 along with some exterior and interior elements. This XK120 roadster is offered with a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
Records that the vehicle was disassembled and stripped before it was refinished around six years ago. In May 2025, the headlights were replaced, and the rear wheel spats were refinished.
Trimmed with bright hubcaps, the 16″ steel wheels are mounted with 6.00-series tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums, and the hydraulic master cylinder and wheel cylinders were replaced in May 2025, also.
An interior kit with replacement leather, seat foam, carpet, insulation, and door panels was installed in 2018. Door pull straps and some trim pieces were fitted in May 2025, as well.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles, while refurbishment invoices list mileage around 42,900.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six has dual SU carburetors, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Replacement wiring harnesses were installed in 2018. The radiator and thermostat were replaced along with associated hoses after the vehicle overheated in 2019. The crankshaft pulley was replaced in 2020.
The factory engine number W6450-8 is pictured on the chassis tag. The VIN on the New Jersey title is W64508.

A delightful example of Jaguar's 'OTS', or open two-seater, this left-hand-drive XK120 was completed on October 28, 1952, and dispatched November 3 of the same year to Los Angeles, California based distributor Charles Hornburg. The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate on file does not record the first owner's name but does verify the original matching-numbers engine block (a later "B" type head is installed—offering a bit more power than the factory original head would have). As new, the XK120 was finished in Brich Grey over Red leather with a Fawn soft top.
The early history of the Jaguar is not documented but receipts of file from 2018 and 2019 document over $20,000 in work. In 2018, an interior kit was installed including replacement red seat leather, foam, carpeting, insulation, and door cards – door pull straps, and some other trim pieces were later fitted in May of this year. Also completed in 2018 was electrical work, including a new wiring harness. In 2019, the car was disassembled, stripped, and repainted Old English White while separately work was completed on the cooling system including replacement of the radiator and thermostat following the car boiling over (it is reported that no internal damage occurred but a leak in the coolant system was found). The next year the crankshaft pulley was replaced. In the current ownership, work completed on the car this year includes serving the brake system, replacing the headlights, and refinishing the rear wheel spats. A top or side curtains are not currently included with the car – not that either of those items keep one very dry when installed in a rainstorm.
The look is graceful, as befits an XK120 - original steel wheels with hubcaps and spats give this car the purest expression of the XK120s sensuous lines. Additional features include Luca's tri-bar head lights and driving lights, while the original jack is also present. The vendor reports that he has enjoyed driving this Jaguar, in which he has taken obvious and well-deserved pride of ownership. A popular choice for vintage touring events, and a timeless design that needs no introduction, here is a usable and very well-presented XK120 Roadster that will provide many thrills for its next long-term keeper.

Introduced in 1948 as the fastest production car of its time, the Jaguar XK120 quickly established itself as a benchmark in postwar sports car design and performance. This 1953 example underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refresh in 2018 and 2019, including a repaint in Old English White and a full interior re-trim in red leather. Powered by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six engine with dual SU carburetors and paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, it comes equipped with four-wheel drum brakes, auxiliary driving lights, 16″ steel wheels, Smiths gauges, and more. With limited use since the completion of its restoration, this XK120 roadster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
