Ebay item 11/8/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-XK120-OTS-Jaguar-XK120-Roadster-solid-original ...
Current bid $17,886.56 reserve not met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
I have owned this car for three years and I am the third registered owner since new. This is a very original, low mileage open two seater roadster which has undergone a cosmetic restoration over the past twenty years, primarily at the expense of the second owner from whose estate the car was purchased three years ago. This is a 1953 car, number 673673, engine number W7628-8, body number F5728, gearbox number 15750. It runs and shifts well and to my knowledge has never had an engine rebuild.

Important facts on this car: The car is complete and original with the exception that the head was replaced with a hotter, "C"- type head by the original owner. Head number is G9805-8S. The block is the original one that came with the car. The original head is long gone and therefore unavailable. Other numbers match the ID plate on the car. The car was repainted red but I do not have the Jaguar heritage certificate to indicate original body and interior colors or original owner. The interior was re-done in biscuit by the last owner. Most, if not all, original chrome has been replaced or replated. Some pieces are reproduction. I have spent $10,000 on this car over the past year on purchase and installation of a proper complete wiring harness loom from the UK, had steering box and rear end serviced, and had replacement radiator and new hoses installed. A defective water/oil pressure gauge was rebuilt by Nisonge and installed by shop. I also purchased and installed a new fuel pump from Bill Tracy. This car comes with new top and restored and recovered side curtains and new rubber for the crash roll around the cockpit. It also comes with a spare tire, jack and jack ratchet. The proper grease gun is in its holder under the bonnet. There is no original tool kit with the car other than the jack, ratchet and grease gun.

The following will need attention to make this car completely roadworthy and dependable. Original gas tank seems to be gradually leaking gas from some pinhole that is not easily detectable. I recommend replacement with an aluminum tank or restoring the existing tank. I would also upgrade to a solid state fuel pump and Petronix ignition for dependability, but the car runs smoothly with great power. Brakes work as well as they every did on these cars but should probably be re-sealed, and new flexible lines fitted. Also, the seats were fitted poorly with a new Connolly leather seat kits by the former owner, so the seats should be taken apart and recovered. I have an expert upholsterer for this and could have it completed very reasonably at new owner's expense. The other major item would be installation of the crash roll rubber - I have everything to do this, including new rubber crash roll and leather as well as the plywood underlayment, but I do not have the time or resources to complete installation. Tires are original style four plies which are at least ten years old with almost no mileage on them but are unsafe for today's highways. The whitewalls are yellowing with age.

Overall, this is a very presentable, beautiful car and could be used as a daily driver or, with much more work, made into a show car.

Ebay item 11/18/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-/391322919836
Opening bid $50,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Beverly, Massachusetts, seller legendarymotorllc, 64k miles.

Sellers description:
1953 Jaguar XK120 OTS; this is a well preserved beautifully styled car which upon original delivery was able to achieve speeds of 120mph. The engine bay is a work of art with the 3.4 liter dual overhead camshaft six-cylinder engine.

This Jaguar was originally finished in Battleship gray with biscuit interior is currently Signal red with biscuit leather interior. The Signal red exterior finish with the biscuit leather interior exemplifies the true lines and beauty as William Lyons intended.

This XK120 has undergone a full body on cosmetic restoration from the floors to the windshield as well as a mechanical restoration with the exception of the motor. The engine in this car had been upgraded in the late 50's with the infamous "C" head and currently runs fantastic. This is the correct motor for the car as indicated by the Heritage Certificate with exception of the head. The current top on this car is completely serviceable but is showing signs of wear; an additional new top will be included in the sale.

This is an exceptional Jaguar XK 120 that runs and sounds fantastic.
