Sellers description:
Provenance Bought new, and owned by a doctor in Michigan for over 40 years. Upon his death in 1995 it was acquired by Terry Deters of Temperance, Michigan, who owns and operates a high-end restoration shop. He intended to restore the car and keep it as his own, however a need for a house precluded this, and the XK 120 was placed up for sale. In 1996 I traded my 1962 Morgan Plus 4 as part payment for the Jaguar. Since that time it has been continuously on the road each summer, with improvements and repairs done as required. In 2006, in need of some bodywork and a new clutch, the decision was made to give the old Jag a frame up restoration. The Restoration Upon careful disassembly, the car was sent to Piscazzi Auto Body in Akron Ohio. Joe Piscazzi is well known by collectors as performing high scoring restorations; ironically he had just completed a 99 point Concourse restoration on his own 1952 XK 120. An exterior color change was in order, and a period bronze was selected. It has been well documented that Jaguar would paint a car ordered new with any color that was currently available at the paint store. Jaguar offered a factory bronze color, however it was very “washed out” looking, so a 1953 Ford “Polynesian Bronze Poly” was selected. The original “Suede Green” interior was replaced with new leather by Frank Konkoly of the Upholstery Shop in Akron, Ohio. The top and original side curtains are black, and the toneau cover is Suede Green. Mechanical - cylinder head rebuilt, - new valves, - rebuilt carburetors, - restored intake manifold, - new clutch, - “custom” heavy duty shifting fork, - new throw out bearing, - new water pump, - new belts and hoses (all), - thermo electric fan, - new brakes and wheel cylinders, - completely rebuilt front end, - new oil seals, etc., etc., I have records, receipts, and photos of everything. Electrical - complete new wiring harness, - rebuilt generator, -rebuilt voltage regulator, - new improved gear reduction starter, - new fuel sending unit, - new batteries, - new coil, - new points, - new condenser, etc., etc. Miscellaneous - new wood floorboards and trunk boards, - five new radial tires and tubes, stainless steel exhaust, rebuilt rear shocks, - new front shocks, - chrome re plated by Custom Chrome. This car was not restored to be a “Trailer Queen”, but a vintage Jaguar to drive with confidence and enjoy! This XK runs very good, and is very reliable.

European Collectibles is pleased to offer this fully restored and matching numbers 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster.

This beautifully restored Jaguar XK120 was sold new to a doctor in Michigan who owned it for over forty years. After his death in 1995, it was sold to a dealer who sold it in 1996 to a gentleman who used it during the summer months for the next ten years. When, in 2006, a new clutch was necessary (which requires removal of the engine) the decision was made to do a full frame-off restoration. The work was carried out by noted Jaguar specialist, Piscazzi Auto Body of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Piscazzi is well-known among Jaguar enthusiasts for building some very high scoring JCNA concours cars. In fact, Mr. Piscazzi embarked on the restoration of this car right after finishing the restoration of his own personal 1952 Jaguar XK120. Although not originally Jaguar Bronze, a similar shade was chosen for this car. The original Suede Green interior color was chosen when this interior was replaced by Frank Konkoly of the Upholstery Shop in Akron, Ohio. Exported new to the USA in December 1953, it was distributed through Hoffman's, New York. Restored in the USA in 2007, chassis 674515 is a stunning Left Hand Drive example still on disc wheels with spats. The body colour is Bronze, with a contrasting apple green leather interior. An odd combination on paper, for sure, but in the flesh it's magnificent.

Fitted with a twin stainless steel exhaust system, kenlowe fan and full wet weather gear, the restoration was finished to a very high standard and it drives well. The history file has invoices going back to the 1970s.

UK road registered, this is a super OTS and good value at £97,500.
