Ebay item 7/23/08

Current bid $25,063.95 reserve not met, 10 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The Gray Ghost
Fresh out of an estate, Muncie Imports Auto Outlet offers this rare 1954, XK120 Convertible (drop head coupe). This car is a survivor, all original, with only 34,850 clearly documented actual miles. The car has been in the same family for 54 years. It has been properly garaged its entire life, and has not been in the rain. It has all original paint, original interior and all numbers matching original equipment, and runs like a 34,000 mile beauty should.

This car features the original tool kit, tire pump and jack. It also has the original fender skirts. We have both the original service manual, and convertible top boot (hood envelope).

The wire wheels and rear chrome bumper were dealer installed items at the time of new car delivery.

While the owner wanted the car original, he also wanted it in tip top running order. The motor has been overhauled, the car has a new clutch, wheel bearings have been replaced, brake adjustor bar replaced, carburetors have been overhauled, and engine mounts replaced. The car also has a new ring and pinion. In the last 10 years we have performed $20,000 in quality ride and drive repairs.

Other features include 4 new radial tires, some body rubber has been replaced as needed, and the lower shock bushings and sway bar bushings have been replaced.

The car does have a new high quality, Robbins hood (convertible top) installed by Muncie Imports.

The original paint is thin in places and there is some surface rust on the undercarriage.

Muncie Imports has serviced the car for the last 15 years. We have all the records.

Our customer loved this car. He kept complete records, with all cancelled checks. He saved the replaced parts including spark plugs which we have in boxes along with an assortment of new and used spare parts.

Vehicle Identification number: 677663. All numbers match!

This is the perfect car for those of you that are "original" connoisseurs. This car will live up to your expectations.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
