Current bid $25,063.95 reserve not met, 10 bids, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
The Gray Ghost
Fresh out of an estate, Muncie Imports Auto Outlet offers this rare 1954, XK120 Convertible (drop head coupe). This car is a survivor, all original, with only 34,850 clearly documented actual miles. The car has been in the same family for 54 years. It has been properly garaged its entire life, and has not been in the rain. It has all original paint, original interior and all numbers matching original equipment, and runs like a 34,000 mile beauty should.
This car features the original tool kit, tire pump and jack. It also has the original fender skirts. We have both the original service manual, and convertible top boot (hood envelope).
The wire wheels and rear chrome bumper were dealer installed items at the time of new car delivery.
While the owner wanted the car original, he also wanted it in tip top running order. The motor has been overhauled, the car has a new clutch, wheel bearings have been replaced, brake adjustor bar replaced, carburetors have been overhauled, and engine mounts replaced. The car also has a new ring and pinion. In the last 10 years we have performed $20,000 in quality ride and drive repairs.
Other features include 4 new radial tires, some body rubber has been replaced as needed, and the lower shock bushings and sway bar bushings have been replaced.
The car does have a new high quality, Robbins hood (convertible top) installed by Muncie Imports.
The original paint is thin in places and there is some surface rust on the undercarriage.
Muncie Imports has serviced the car for the last 15 years. We have all the records.
Our customer loved this car. He kept complete records, with all cancelled checks. He saved the replaced parts including spark plugs which we have in boxes along with an assortment of new and used spare parts.
Vehicle Identification number: 677663. All numbers match!
This is the perfect car for those of you that are "original" connoisseurs. This car will live up to your expectations.

This is an all original car with the exception of a newer exhaust system and newer front glass. Furthermore, this car has remained with the same family since atleast the mid-1970's....Atleast fifty years! We have quite a bit of service history with receipts and registrations dating back to that time along with many hand written notes to suppliers and repair shops. The patina on the body is incredible and there would be no way I would personally restore this car. The body # indicated on the cowl tag is also found hand written on the inner side of the factory rear wheel spats. The interior is 100% original and to be honest shows years of enjoyment. There is no body rot on this car and the underside looks like a 70 Year old original car still wtih the factory leather wrapped rear wheel springs. The XK120 was the fastest production car in the World! That is a strong statement.
The first 242 cars were all Aluminum but after that the bodies were steel but still retained Aluminum doors, rear deck lid and hood. Mechanically this car starts, idles and goes down the road so smoothly and very responsive. All of the exterior lights work, and with the exceptiion of the RPM guage the guages are operational. This would be an absolute killer car to do vintage touring in. There are many extras like gaskets, hoses, bulbs and many other assorted items along with manuals. We welcome any questions or inspections here in our Traverse City location.
