I'm in the process of buying this car and shipping it back to the UK for restoration. The car is complete, partially dismantled, and needs a significant amount of work. I have not applied for a Heritage Certificate because I don't have the right documents yet. The original colour appears to be Birch Grey, but the original interior colour is not clear.

Any information about this cars early history would be appreciated. I have information from 1969.

Update - January 2015.

The car has been completely stripped and the body/chassis is with James Sidwell for complete restoration. Some accident damage has been discovered on the front right which means some additional body and chassis work. Some previous restoration work is also being corrected to ensure proper alignment.

Car has been in storage for a while now whilst my garage is being extended. Taking much longer than planned. Some progress with parts and the engine is nearly there thanks to Les Trafford.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
