Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe reportedly was acquired by the current owner in 1988 and was refurbished beginning around 20 years ago. Work performed included repainting the exterior burgundy in 1998 and refinishing the wood trim in the burgundy leather interior. The 3.4-liter inline-six is said to have been rebuilt in 2003, and it is paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Additional conversions to modernize the car include an electronic ignition and the installation of front disc brakes. This XK120 is now offered on behalf of the current owner with service records dating back 20 years and transferrable New York registration.

The exterior was refinished in burgundy and features rear wheel spats. Work is said to have been completed by Warren L Riter & Sons Inc of Penfield, New York in 2003. Steel wheels are painted to match the body and mounted with wide whitewall tires. The selling dealer states that the front brakes have been converted to discs.

The interior features individual bucket seats with burgundy upholstery and matching door cards over beige carpeting. Records show that the woodwork was refinished by Madera Concepts in 2012.

A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of the refreshed dashboard. Centrally located Smiths instrumentation includes a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, auxiliary gauges, and a 140-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 60k miles, more than 30k of which are said to have been added by the current owner.

The 3.4-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors, and an electronic ignition conversion kit has been installed. The engine is said to have been rebuilt by Riter & Sons in 2003, and power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was installed by Horsepower Motorworks in 2016. The car was inspected and serviced in November 2019 according to the selling dealer.

It is noted that the vehicle is registered under the engine number and not the chassis number. The cylinder-head stamping matches the number shown on the tag W6399-8. Service records accompanying the sale date back more than 20 years. Receipts from the refurbishment reportedly indicate that the total cost of the project exceeded $100,000.
