Seller's description:

Jaguar

XK120 FHC 3.4

Year: 1953

Chassis no: 680962

Registration: SG6612 Swiss GSJ786

Registered In: Switzerland & UK

Price: £68,000

Finished in its original colours of British Racing Green with a tan lether interior. This Jaguar was supplied new to the USA in March of 1953. It was repatriated to the UK 1998. At this time a full rewire was undertaken along with a bare metal respray & new tan leather & brown carpets all in the cars original colours as per the Jaguar Heritage sheet.

The exterior paint is in good order thoughout & is very lightly patinated giving a nice original feel to the car. Likewise under the bonnet the engine bay is largely original but with large bills showing it has been properly looked after & rebuilt as & when required. Once in Switzerland the engine was fully rebuilt and is running superbly as a result. In addition the brakes and hydraulics were redone as well as the clutch & associated hydraulics/master cylinder etc

The interior woodwork of which there is plenty is original & as it left the factory with a really fine crackle finish to the varnish.  The drivers seat back has ben profiled & sculpted to allow for a taller 6ft 3" driver to be comfortable in the car. Recorded mileage is currently 95,000.

The car starts instantly & drives beautifully with the twin cam engine making all the right noises. The car sits on its original pressed steel wheels shod with 4 good tyres & is equipped with spats to the rear wheels.

This is a very well looked after car that has ben part of a private Swiss collection for some years. Viewings are by appointment in Switzerland 1/2 hour from Zurich. It is both Swiss & UK registered with taxes paid in both countries.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
