About 5 years ago, I purchased a square windshield washer bottle on ebay. On the Trico cardboard wrapper was written 800037. Thought only the fhc had the square bottle, but may be wrong. PO may have purchased this. What do you have for bottle? A.

Seems I was wrong in my interpretation. The number 800037 is coincidently, the part number.

Seller's description:
1955 Jaguar XK140 SE OTS
Price £159,950
1 of just 36 RHD Special Equipment examples
Heritage Certificate confirms matching numbers and RHD
Formerly owned by Western star George Montgomery (Lone Ranger)
Mille Miglia and Tour Auto eligible
The Jaguar XK140 SE Open Two Seater for sale at the Classic Motor Hub is 1 of just 74 XK140 OTS examples built in RHD and 1 of just 36 specified with the desirable Special Equipment option. As well as SE specification, this example was ordered with the C-Type head and carburettors, which raised engine power from 190bhp to 210bhp. Other additions from the SE package were twin exhaust system, wire wheels with knock-on hubs, twin fog lamps, high speed crankshaft damper and windscreen washers.
The beginning of this cars life is an interesting one. Ordered new by Sgt. Eugene A. Rinberg, a USAF serviceman based at the NATO airbase near Phalsbourg in North East France, the car was delivered to him via the Paris Jaguar agents, Delecroix, and yet was specified in Right Hand Drive, a fact confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate we have on file. When it was time to return to the USA, Sgt. Rinberg took his beloved XK140 with him. Soon after the car was sold to George Montgomery, a well known Hollywood actor who starred in many Westerns and his roles included the Lone Ranger and the Cisco Kid.
In the 1988 the car was bought by a Lenhardt Stevens of California, whether he bought it direct from George Montgomery or if there was one owner in between is not clear.
After 5 years of ownership, Mr. Stevens decided to embark on a full restoration and in 1993 sent the car to Hector Castro, a Pebble Beach standard restorer, who at the time was based in California but now operates in Denver. He carried out a body off restoration, powder coating the chassis and doing an incredible job on the body and paintwork. One wouldn’t believe this car was restored 25 years ago, it could have been done last year! Testament to Hector’s workmanship and the owners since it was done. The mechanical side of things was done by Paul Rougeux, also a California based restorer. Completed in December 1997, the car was clearly used sparingly and lovingly looked after for the following 10 years until it came to the UK in 2007 and was put in the private collection of Henry Pearman of Eagle. In 2010 the current owner bought the car and has taken it to many Jaguar Enthusiast Club events and lavished on it the sort of car that befits such a well cared for example. Most recently, the car was taken to K & N Classic Cars to have all the tappets adjusted, a new pressure relief valve fitted and a fresh set of spark plugs.
Available for sale immediate inspection, this beautiful Jagaur XK140 SE OTS for sale at the Classic Motor Hub is a wonderful opportunity for any Jaguar enthusiast or collector. An incredibly rare example in simply stunning condition and we can assure any potential buyers that the driving experience matches the looks.

Car now offered at:

Seller's description:
1955 Jaguar XK 140 SE
One of only 74 examples built in RHD, this outstanding Jaguar XK 140 open two seater (OTS) is further desirable by being one of just 36 supplied with the Special Equipment option. In addition to the SE specification, it was also completed with the C-Type head and carburettors, considerably raising the engine power from 190 bhp to 210 bhp. Other noticeable additional extras from the SE package were twin exhausts, wire wheels with knock on hubs, twin fog lamps, high speed crankshaft damper and windscreen washers.
As per the Jaguar Heritage certificate, the 140 was ordered new by a USAF serviceman based at the NATO airbase in North East France. Delivered to him via the Jaguar agents in Paris, Delecroix finished in pastel blue with blue interior. Unsurprisingly, when it was time to return to the USA, Sgt Rinberg took his beloved 140 with him. The next owner was the celebrated Hollywood actor George Montgomery, the star of many westerns with roles including the Lone Ranger and the Cisco Kid.
The next known change of ownership was in 1988 when the car was bought by Lenhard Stevens who during his twenty year ownership embarked on a full restoration commencing in 1993. The work was entrusted to renown restorer Hector Castro. These comprehensive works included a body off restoration, powder coating the chassis and of course a superb job on the body and paintwork. At the same time the mechanicals were also attended to and rebuilt and refurbished as necessary. These exhaustive works were completed in 1997 and he continued to enjoy the car for another 10 years at which point it came to the UK and joined the private collection of none other than Henry Pearman, the founder of Eagle who with his infinite expertise undoubtedly made something great even better.
It must be stressed that not only is it visually still in beautiful condition throughout, as ever the proof in the pudding is how it drives. Good luck finding a better one. Truly impressive and reassuring. An absolute delight!
