I have just sent you a reply but was unfortunately cut off before I fininshed. I now realise that this may have deleted your spam prevention word. Please let me know if this has been the case and I will write again,

Here goes again. I bought the car in 1992 from the Yorkshire Vintage & Classic Car Company as an unfinished restoration project. It has discs fitted at the moment although the conversion does not seem to have been finished and I am in two minds whether or not to revert to drums. The car came with a green Norfolk logbook valid from 1966 to 1973 but the ownership before and after this period is unknown. The registration on the logbook is EX9490. The mileometer shows 12,850 but presumably this has either already been round the clock or is non-original. All numbers match.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
