The first RHD DHC. The registration number is no longer recorded on the UK vehicle licencing authority website. Does anyone have any news on this vehicle?

Original Jaguar XK by Philip Porte says RTP (returned to parts) meaning scrapped at Factory

In fact the car was not scrapped at the factory: Clausager in the "In Detail: book records: "This 001 and 002 were the 2 DHC prototypes. 001 was used by Bill Heynes. Both cars were disposed of secondhand to Coombs, Guildford. Both still exist, both reported to have a number of XK120 features, e.g bumpers, rear lamps, bootlid, and for 807001 a 120 grille." Porter in Original Jaguar XK (1998) at page 139 and the same title from 2008 at page 373 states: "807001 & 807002 completion dates unknown" and makes no reference to scrapping.

John........Just re-read it and I mistakenly referred to 807001 when it should have been 804001 which was RTP To be corrected by one of the worlds greatest Jaguar experts is almost a privilege

Now a correction to a correction. Hans Glaser in Newport Beach California was listed as keeper of 804001 but the March 1998 edition of XK Gazette says now in Glottertal Germany. So not RTP either
