Seller's description:
Jaguar XK140 DHC RHD 1956 - for sale
Chassis number: 807350DN
This Jaguar XK140 drophead coupé is an original matching number UK car. The car was originally supplied by E. S. Priror & Son of Wimbledon to a Mrs Ethel Dickinson. The car remained in Mrs Dickinsons ownership for over 23 years and during this time was cared for by Archers Garage of Solihull at considerable expense given the cars age and value at the time. The car has had a number of owners since then and is rumoured to have spent some time in a museum or private collection. The history file on this car is extensive if not absolutely complete and strongly suggests that the car has never been restored but has been well maintained thoughout its life.
This XK remains in standard specification to this day and drives very nicely indeed. It is still finished in its original colour scheme of Black with Red interiors but is showing its age. The hood and hood bag have been replaced at some point during the cars life and various other interior and exterior parts have most likely been attended to at some point. This not withstanding this XK140 is an outstandingly rare creature; an unrestored and original XK which has been well looked after thought its life.
