Seller's description:
An original Home Market example of the ever useable XK 140 Drop Head Coupe. Registered XAF 100, the registration it still sports to this day and supplied new through Henleys of London in August 1956 XAF is an overdrive, disk brake example, and one of 430 original Right Hand Drive cars built.
Finished in Old English White with a red interior, XAF 100 was comprehensively restored in the 1990s. Since then it has been regularly used and maintained, the previous owner – an XK Club member – for almost two decades treated the car to a bare metal repaint by Moorland Classic Cars as well as an engine overhaul in 2016. There is 25 years of history and paperwork accompanying this XK including an original factory hand book and sales brochure.

Specific notes from the seller include: it has been resprayed; a tiny bubble in front nearside wing.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 11 June 2024 at an indicated 86,900 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories.
Please note: This vehicle is now believed to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age.
SERVICE HISTORY
In June 2024, NDL Rothwell completed a pre-tour inspection, adjusted the carburettors, clutch and brakes, removed around 2mm of material from the rear drum faces to prevent the wheels locking up, and replaced the bottom ball joint lock tabs, brake master cylinder ¼ pipe, engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, brake fluid, and brake fluid feed hose. A manual choke switch was installed.
There is a parts invoice from the XK Specialist Guy Broad dated May 2024, for new NGK spark plugs, a Viper sports coil, and an XJ6 paper oil filter.
In September 2022, a 1-2-3 ignition was installed, the carburettor needles were re-profiled, and the spark plug leads and coil were changed by Rawspeed Engine Tuning.
The car was resprayed in November 2020 by Classic Project Shop, and the door and windscreen seals were replaced. New wing mirrors were fitted, the overdrive solenoid was cleaned and adjusted, the underside was detailed and rust-protected, the heater motor wiring was repaired, the hood rail was repaired, and the seats and carpets were refurbished. The front suspension was also rebuilt. Other replacement parts included the battery clamp, rocker cover gaskets, shock absorbers, water pump, fan, brake servo and exhaust.
According to a letter from L. Philips of A.M.I.A.E.A, restorative maintenance in the 1990s included overhauls of the engine, gearbox, rear axle and brakes, sandblasting and painting of the chassis, a respray of the body, a re-wire, and refurbishment of the dash and instruments.
SUMMARY
This Jaguar XK140 is an elegant classic sports car, benefiting from extensive prior restoration in the 1990s, as well as a more recent renovation in 2020. It would be a credit to any collection, and is ready to relish out on the open road.
