Car now offered at:

www.gullwingmotorcars.com/1955-jaguar-xk140-mc-c-5081.htm

Seller's description:

This extremely original 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Roadster is a matching numbers example that's been under the same ownership since 1965. Offered in a rare and desirable color combination, moss green with black interior. An exciting project in need of straightforward restoration. Lots of potential and well worth the effort to restore. It's been off the road for several years and is not currently running. It's not everyday that you come across an unrestored XK140 MC Roadster. Be the first to do so.

This Jaguar is among the desirable Special Equipment or SE models, as denoted by the S prefix to the chassis number. This example was also fitted with the optional C-Type cylinder head, which increased engine output to a stout 210 bhp. In all, approximately 2,028 left-hand-drive XK140 Roadsters were factory equipped with both the SE package and C-Type head, a combination often referred to as the MC model. Given its relatively limited production numbers, ideal factory specification, and eligibility for some of the most popular driving events and concours, this XK140 MC Roadster represents an exciting opportunity for the enthusiast looking for a worthy and rewarding restoration project.

Rare, desirable, and highly collectible XK140 "MC" Roadster

Desirably optioned with Special Equipment package and C-Type Head

Matching numbers example

Under the same ownership since 1965

Highly original car offered in a rare and desirable color combination

Never restored, the ideal candidate for restoration

Price: $49,500

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
