Sellers description:
Just in this 1956 XK140 fixed head coupe is a great example of coming from southern California. Out of all the years we have been dealing with cars for restoration, this has to be one the most dry, rust free body we have ever seen. There is no filler in the car at all, there are no dents and no rust. All the gaps on the car are like they were, when the car left the factory. Whoever buys this car will be very pleased with the condition of the car's body. The car has been sitting in a garage for many years, waiting to be restored. The car came from the factory as an MC overdrive car. Typical of California, the engine and gearbox had been replaced. The engines tend to wear out, but not the bodies in California. The engine and gearbox that are in the car now are from an XK140, but of they don't match the data plate. and this engine does turns freely. The car is pretty much complete. There is a box with some spare parts that go with the car that is not shown in the photos. I do not have a Jaguar Heritage Certificate to verify the louvered bonnet, but it appears to be factory. The car does not run and needs to be totally restored. It does roll and steer easily, though, so it can be transported.
