The engine listed above G2078-8S is said to be in this car, but is not the original engine for this car - assuming the chassis number has been correctly reported of course.

This wonderfully original and very special XK140 is the FIRST Left Hand Drive XK140 ever built. It was originally imported into Max Hoffman's Jaguar dealership in New York and was very likely also the New York Auto Show display car. It is a very sympathetically restored example of this model, and still carries nearly all of it's original parts. The rust-free car was owned for many years by a gentleman in Seattle and is still owned by a friend of this long-term owner. With only 89K original miles on the odometer, the car has recently had new wiring, new interior work, new stainless steel dual exhaust system, rebuilt carburettors, a re-cored radiator and new brakes on all 4 wheels completed to the highest standards. It is having a new top installed at present time and beyond that it really needs nothing to be a fantastic daily driver...or a quite original show car. This rare and unusual XK140 runs and drives very well and could be something very special for it's next owner.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
