This 1955 Jaguar XK140, one of 8,884 similar sports cars in the model range, was found in a farmer’s field before being transformed into this custom-body vintage race car. The seller reports that the chassis and engine were reconditioned and clothed with a custom body designed to replicate early race specials. This race car is obviously finished to a very high degree, and is reported to have taken part in events in Canada and the United States, including the Mt. Equinox Hillclimb in Vermont. Described as “totally unique,” and “custom designed and fabricated,” the Jaguar is powered by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a manual transmission. The seller adds that “all mechanical parts have been totally rebuilt or renewed.” The seller describes the Jaguar as a “race/road special.”
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six, factory rated at 190 horsepower, is said to be original.
