This 1959 Jaguar XK150 is a left-hand-drive Drophead Coupe that was manufactured January 1, 1959 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment by Muncie Imports of Muncie, Indiana, from 2011-2013. The car is finished in Carmen Red over black leather with a black convertible soft top and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 16″ chrome knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, aftermarket air conditioning, and lap belts for the front occupants. This XK150 is offered by the selling dealer in New York with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, restoration photos, spare parts, a tool kit, and a clean Massachusetts title showing the car as a 1960.

The car was taken down to bare metal before a repaint in the factory Carmen Red. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, driving lights, fender-mounted mirrors, chrome bumpers with overrider bars, bright trim, and a polished exhaust outlet.

Chrome-clad 16” wire wheels are secured with knock-off centers and fitted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car was equipped from the factory with a four-wheel disc brake system.

The black interior was re-trimmed and features seats clad in leather upholstery with red piping accompanied by matching door panels and interior trim. The storage bin adjacent to the wood-rimmed steering wheel is lined in green fabric, and additional features include a Classic Auto Air air-conditioning system, a heater, manual windows, lap belts for the front seats, and a dash-mounted mirror.

Centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation in a wood-finished cluster includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 6k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown. The seller states that the factory dash panel is included with the car.

The 3.4-liter inline-six is equipped with double overhead cams and dual SU carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An electric fan was installed during the refurbishment, and the car is fitted with a 12-volt negative-ground electrical system. Work conducted in preparation for the sale included replacing the clutch master cylinder, the clutch slave cylinder, and a general inspection.

Cylinder head stamping V6232–8 matches the engine number listed on the chassis tag and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the build date of January 1, 1959 along with the factory colors and identification numbers.

Opening bid $75,000, reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller significantcars, car now in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Seller's description:

This Exceptionally Nicely Restored Example really needs nothing but a happy new owner. The Subject of a Comprehensive Restoration with a Bare Metal Repaint, All new Interior, extensive Replating, New Rubbers ant Trim, New Wheels, extensive Mechanical Rebuild, and addition of Vintage A/C- this Jag is ready for Show or Tour. No flaws are noted in the Paint and Finish of this car. The Panel Gaps are straight and true, and the Chrome gleams like jewelry. The car starts right up and runs strong- it was recently sent to Muncie Imports who gave it a clean bill of health mechanically, and found nothing that needed their attention. Everything works in the car with the exception of the Clock, and the A/C blows Ice cold. The interior is soft and supple and beautifully trimmed with attention to authenticity and all new rubbers.

In Short this a No Excuses or Apologies Car here...This is just a great example!

Accompanied By Books, Tools, and Manuals, as well as a 3 Ring Binder with over 150 pages of receipts, documentation, and research, this numbers matching example ticks all the boxes.
