Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster s/n S674502, Engine No. F1420-8S Pastel Green with Suede Green Leather This late production, fully restored, matching numbers, XK 120 Roadster was sold new in Los Angles, California, and has been with the current owner for approximately 35 years. A complete restoration- both mechanical and cosmetic- has been carried out over the last 12 years. Well over $100,000 has been spent on a no-expense spared effort to achieve the highest possible results. It is finished in its original and period appropriate color combination. The odometer show just 76 miles, reflecting the distance traveled since the restoration was completed. With basically no miles on this high quality repaint, there are no rock chips or dings anywhere on the car. The only paint flaws of any significance anywhere on the car are where the top contacts the body. The body is extremely straight and was a rust free example at the beginning of the restoration process. The hood, doors, and trunk gaps are all excellent. All the exterior chrome; bumpers, window frames, and taillight housings, have been re-plated in recent years and are very good. The car sits on new chrome wire wheels with semi-restored chrome knock offs, and older Dunlop Road Speed tires with almost no miles on them. The interior is also fully restored with freshly reupholstered seats, floors, doors, and dash. The gauges have all been restored. Many of the knobs and switches have been left in original condition. The seats and dash have been redone in very soft leather, while the door panels have been done in matching green vinyl. The tan convertible top is completely new with a new canvas cover and new support frame. The trunk is painted to match the body and fitted with matching green vinyl mat. The engine compartment and underside show almost no evidence of use since the restoration was completed. The firewall is clean, as are the chassis rails and suspension components. The wiring harness looks to have been replaced some years ago as part of the restoration. Mechanically, the car is strong. The engine and transmission have both been rebuilt. The engine sounds tight and is very responsive. The brakes are effective and well balanced. Currently, we are tying up some minor loose ends to make the car more enjoyable for its future owner. With the car comes the unrestored spare wire wheel, and photo and written documentation for much of the restoration work carried out over the last decade, and the British Heritage Trust Certificate confirming this car is offered as a matching numbers example in the original delivery color combination.

i believe this is the car featured on the TV series "Chasing Classic Cars". Wayne Carini, proprietor of F40 Motorsports did some restoration on the car, including a repaint, and sold it at the Bonhams Greenwich, CT auction for $95,000. I've just watched it for the 4th time! He also tried to sell a 3.8 S-Type which he bought from Copley Motors, but lost $1000 at the $15,000 hammer price.
