This 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller’s late brother in 1967 and has reportedly remained in storage since 1969. The car is equipped with a replacement 3.4L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket fiberglass hardtop accompanies the vehicle, along with the removed bumpers, brake components, soft top frame, side curtains, trim pieces, and interior components. This XK120 project is being offered by the seller on behalf of her sister-in-law with a clean Missouri title.
Said to have been previously finished in white, the car was reportedly vandalized and damaged in the late 1960s and subsequently placed in storage. It now wears faded red paint and black primer, and areas of body filler are present on the trunk lid, doors, and driver-side front fender. Paint chips, cracks, and areas of corrosion and rust-through are evident around the body as shown up close in the gallery. An aftermarket fiberglass hardtop will accompany the vehicle, along with a pair of removable side curtains, bumperettes, windshield glass and frames, a front grille, side mirrors, and trim pieces.
The knock-off wire wheels show corrosion and are mounted with older tires that require replacement. Two spare wheels are included in the sale, along with four removed brake drums and a brake master cylinder.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in black vinyl, while the carpets and various trim pieces have been removed. Tears are noted in the seats, the wood trim and instrument panel are cracked and aged, and corrosion is evident on the firewall. The radio is missing, and additional images in the gallery show the condition of the interior.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary displays. One of the gauges is missing, and the five-digit odometer shows 0 miles. Total mileage is unknown, and a spare instrument cluster will accompany the vehicle.
The 3.4L inline-six is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The engine turns freely by hand and features a replacement block as well as a cylinder head reportedly sourced from a Jaguar Mark II. Dual SU carburetors are fitted. The driver-side exhaust pipe is missing.
Areas of rust-through are present on the underside. The car is titled using the engine number
