Sellers description:
1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC (Drop Head Coupe) Silver with Black interior and black top. Original drive train car, with a solid body pretty original. The convertible top has some wear to it and could use a new top and headliner. Leather is free of rips or tears, carpets are in excellent condition. Runs and drives well. The paint has some lacquer checking to it when you look at it up close and a few nicks here and there. So if you are looking to show this car then it could benefit from a new paint job. This car would be perfect for someone who wants to do some work and have a highly collectible vintage Jaguar that continues to go up in value. It is all there so would be a rather easy fixer, or you can just enjoy it the way it is and work at your pace over time. It is a ton of fun to drive around in and always turns a lot of heads.

I would like to make a correction to Mark, the gentleman who stated that this car was reportedly sold for the purchase price of $19,500. We listed the car at $52,900 on 7/9/10 and we sold it for $52,900. This 1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC (Drop Head Coupe), Chassis Number # S677057, Silver with Black interior and black top. Its equipped with the "SE" option package and C-type cylinder head, this example sports the 3/8-inch lift cams, lightened flywheel and damper, dual exhausts, and wire wheels. It was a sweet deal for the new owner!
Collectible Jaguars are increasing in value, relative to recently overheated segments of the market. And while the sales of the XK120s in 2009/2008 were a bit of irrational exuberance, I'd say that in terms of today's U.S. economic situation and the tough times in the collectible car market, this car was fairly sold and our loss is certainly a buyer's gain in this particular car.
This 1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC was purchased by the second owner, a Car Collector in 1981 and stayed in Colorado as part of a large private collection since then and used sparingly-until. We decided to get this car and others (Rolls Royce and Bentley's) from his collection. I believe that the car deserves to continue to be preserved in stock condition. I have had a great deal of fun and pleasure driving the Jag for the time I had it in our inventory.
We are an Independent Rolls Royce and Bentley sales and service facility located Van Nuys, California. Check our inventory at www.classicmotorco.com and buy with confidence from us.
