Built 1954 December - the only RHD OTS built that month. The number says it is early and now only number 007 is missing from the first 16 built

Where are you Stuart? Can we have more detail from the chassis plate? A picture would be great!!

i'm probably being a bit dim here, but can someone explain how the picture of the complete car has what appears to be a V8 exhaust (or at least a four cylinder),and yet the rest of the pictures show a jaguar c-type engine in place? also, why are the wheels on the complete car blacked out in the picture?

This car has been proven to be non original. A check revealed the numbers have been restamped

    2014-01-07 17:21:42 | Anonymous writes:

The number stamped on the frame looks more like 800003...

    2014-01-07 23:01:25 | terry mcgrath writes:

I will agree that the picture showing the number on the side chassis adjacent to rear engine mount the last digit looks like a 3 but the number shown on the front of the frame under the radiator looks like an 8 would need to check in person and clean and photograph much better

    2014-01-21 15:18:21 | Dave writes:

Paul, you noted this has been proven to be non original? please supply further information as this vehicle carries the original registration number and was inspected by JEC as well as the police vehicle unit.

    Dave,
As would I. I did not see the car but was given this information from someone who has. I would expect the JEC know what to look for however police might not recognize small anomalies like fonts not used by the factory.

Why are we even discussing this? Something this dubious is clearly too tarnished now to buy/sell/restore or even acknowledge. It is basically just a replica at best now

    2014-02-08 22:15:49 | pauls writes:

Dave, don't know why you say that. The site's objective is to be a log of a car's history. Nothing about a car is too tarnished to be acknowledged as long as it is fact, up to and including those that have been scrapped. It would seem we've achieved our objective as to use your word, the ID of this car is dubious. Any value established between a buyer/seller is irrelevant here.

    2014-07-17 05:25:28 | Peter Ingram writes:

Just to keep the pot boiling I have just noticed that the Body number and engine number and for all I know the gearbox as well are for a left hand drive car whose chassis would approximate to 810424 /425 or 426 All fit the Build/first registration date of December 1954
