This car was featured in an article written in the JOC, Los Angeles JCNA affiliate.

"The XK140 "MC" (Special Equipment model) roadster, was manufactured in October '54 and shipped to Charles Hornberg, West Coast distributor for Jaguar, the same month. It was sold in Nov. by Brentwood Motors. The first owner of S810019 modified the car with Alfin alloy brake drums and Borrani 72 spoke alloy rimmed 16" wire wheels. This combination saved 80 lbs over the stock wheels and cast iorn drums. He must have planned to race the car but kept it for only a year and a half." At the time of the article the car was located in Washington state and had been completely restored. Painted silver with red interior. There was no date on the article but the year 2003 was mentioned as a side note so its relatively current information. Previously owned by Bruce Carnachan in California.

Car is discussed by the Netherlands owner in the 9/11 edition of the XK Gazette. Owned since 2004. Still has the original motor. Sold originally in the US, in 1954.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
