Seller's description:
This 1956 Jaguar XK140 Roadster is a highly sought-after MC model with matching numbers. Black with red interior. An extremely original black-plate California car in need of straightforward restoration. Just out of a collection where it has been sitting in storage and is not currently running. This car has never been restored but it was repainted from red to black at some point in its life. This Jaguar is among the desirable Special Equipment or SE models, as denoted by the S prefix to the chassis number. This example was also fitted with the optional C-Type cylinder head, which increased engine output to a stout 210 bhp. In all, approximately 2,028 left-hand-drive XK140 Roadsters were factory equipped with both the SE package and C-Type head, a combination often referred to as the MC model. Given its relatively limited production numbers, ideal factory specification, and eligibility for some of the most popular driving events and concours, this XK140 MC Roadster represents an exciting opportunity for the enthusiast looking for a worthy and rewarding restoration project.
