    Ebay item 10/26/12
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1957-Jaguar-XK140-MC-Special-Equipment-Roadster-Numbers- ...
Current bid $20,100 reserve not met 7 bids 9 days left in auction. 63k miles.

    Sellers description:
Numbers matching, 1957 Jaguar XK140 SE (MC) Roadster OTS. Designated XK140 SE (special equipment) in the UK and XK140 MC (C-Type cylinder head) in North America, this car is a factory original Special Equipment example built from the Jaguar factory with the XK120 modifications. This car dramatically sets itself apart from a standard XK140 OTS having been fitted with the infamous C-Type head, 2-inch sand-cast H8 carburetors, heavier torsion bars and twin exhaust pipes.

This XK140 MC has been used as a driver by its previous long-term owner with much enjoyment and a considerable amount of acknowledgement from fellow onlookers and enthusiasts alike. The body on the car has its fair share of paint imperfections and blemishes, and could benefit from a high quality refinishing if the next owner desires. The chrome is in good presentable shape and the car is complete, including its original side curtains, wire wheel spare, canvas soft top, and miscellaneous extra parts. While the frame and chassis is solid, the car does show rust in typical areas on the underside. There is damage and corrosion just behind the driver and passenger side doors that would need repair before refinishing. The interior was redone years ago and presents very nicely. The red leather seats are plush and without tears, creasing, or any significant wear.

As a car that has been driven on a more regular basis, the mechanical condition is strong. The car always fires right up and maintains a consistent idle. We have not experienced any overheating problems. The car does pull slightly to one side on braking, and we will be looking into this repair further. The most important point to note is that the car retains its original engine and numbers matching C-Type head. The car is complete and could be absolutely spectacular if the next owner decides to take it to that next level. In the years to come this XK140 Special Equipment MC will be skyrocketing in value as one of the most sought after and collectible XK series available.

    Car returns to ebay 11/5/13
    www.ebay.com/itm/281198746836
Car has a buy it now price of GBP 58,000 for 4 days. Car now said to be in South Ockendon, Essex, United Kingdom.

    Sellers description:
This car arrived in the U.K. earlier in the year, and has been subject to light re-commissioning work in order to enjoy over the summer.
Other than the re-trim and older re-paint the car is 100% original. An extremely honest and unrestored example.
Numbers matching throughout, strong and highly reliable engine and transmission. A very useable car. Comes complete with original hood/frame and side screens.
Customer's conclusion that DHC is perhaps the more practical car dictates sale.

Car to be at auction 1/14
    www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

    Auction description:
    Lot 228 - 1957 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster
    Estimate: £42,000 - £47,000
    Registration Number: 667 YUW
    Chassis Number: S812958

This very original left hand drive Californian example is finished in black with contrasting red interior. These iconic British sports cars are extremely sort after and represent all that was great about open top sports car driving back in the 1950s, which of course is still as good today as it was then.

This example has spent most of its life in the United States and was imported by the present vendor in 2012. The car comes with an MoT certificate which expires in July 2014 and at this reasonable price, it is surely an opportunity not to be missed.
