Sellers description:
Recently purchased from the estate of a very long term owner, this Jaguar XK140 has always been serviced and maintained to be a good reliable summer car and has never fell into any state of disrepair to require a complete restoration. The car runs a drives very well and the prior owners family recalls the engine being out of the car and rebuilt in the mid 1980's but we have found no paperwork to document what was actually done. We have determined that the engine block and head are a matched unit by their numbers. Motor and transmission seem very sound with no leaks or notable problems whatsoever. We did recently do some brake repairs to make the car totally safe and drivable. Spoke wheels are straight and true, tires are good but aged as far as we can tell. Spare tire is in place.
The car is very attractive in its color combination of Dark Blue with Red interior. Completely refinished over 20 years ago, the paint is far from perfect but very presentable. The overall quality of the body and paint work is quite good but not show quality. Interior appears to have been redone years ago and is still very nice. All of the original wood is extremely nice as are the gauges and steering wheel. window glass is original, shows some scratches but not severe. We do not have the radio, family said it was out for a repair and they know not where Dad sent it.
Overall, this is a very nice driver quality XK140 that could be driven and enjoyed just as it is or could be a candidate for restoration if so desired. We are located in Erie, PA
