This left-hand drive 1955 XK140, chassis number S817111, is a very desirable, high-performance “MC” variant. Among its many desirable features, this XK140 is equipped with a number of competition-bred upgrades. Among them, the car is equipped with a high-flow C-Type cylinder head, a pair of enlarged two-inch SU H8 carburettors, overdrive, dual exhaust outlets, driving lamps and “knock-off,” wire-spoke wheels. When new, the “MC” package added just $295 to the base price of the XK140.
This XK140 includes a set of period-style luggage and is well maintained, with a unique colour combination. These XK140s are excellent event cars and wonderful for touring, particularly with the added performance of the “MC” specification.
