Sellers description:
Condition: High End Driver; This beautiful, matching numbers, XK-140 MC has been well cared for with over $4,500 in recent service receipts. This is a two owner car with the second owner owning the car for over 40 years! The second owner kept all of the receipts for the vehicle. This car is exercised regularly and runs like a champ. With four brand new radial white wall tires and a full size spare, this lovely car is ready to be driven. This car is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and California Historical Plates. This car is ready to be driven or restored to a higher level.
History
The XK 140 was introduced in 1954 with major changes in appearance and engineering. Externally, the classic lines were retained but were protected by sturdier bumpers to give better protection, both front and rear. From the rear, the basic lines were remained, but the finish features were completely restyled. Although the external appearance of the XK 140 was significantly altered, the major changes were mechanical. The most important change was the repositioning of the engine three inches forward on the chassis. This not only afforded additional passenger room, it also provided space for the battery in the front fender well, thus freeing the area behind the seats for a jump seat and/or additional storage.

This beautiful Drop Head Coupé is a fully numbers matching example with the MC performance package. It's a two-owner car, with the second caretaker having owned it for the past 40 years. Always carefully stored, it was driven in dry weather only, and has been well maintained from new. The results of the restoration are today presented in red with a fine tan interior and top. The entire passenger compartment is tidy and correct. The receipts from the second owner were meticulously retained and accompany the car.
This elegant open Jaguar is from the final year of XK140 production, one of 8,884 built, and represents one of the main reasons Jaguar was able to secure its share of the North American sports car market. Complete with five chrome wire wheels and newer whitewall radial tires, this lovely XK140 is certain to turn heads wherever it travels, placing the owner in position to enjoy driving the car as intended, or maintain its level of detail and show the car successfully.
