Not just great but a late car only 11 from end of production and only 305 309 310 & 311 are known to survive. If the engine is not a misread 76 series were from an earlier production ! A great discovery

Dear Peter

What do you know about the 76 Series?
The original engine was G 9766-8S as the heritage certificate shows.
The actual engine with the Nr. G 7643-8S is a 3.8 litre and therefor can't be from earlier production? It has a C Cylinderhead and runs absolutely great.
Maybe somebody has changed the number?

Thank you and best regards, Martin

Martin: The engine G 7643-8S was built around April 1956 as a 3.4 litre maybe later bored out to 3.8 which I am not sure was possible or desirable so more likely a wrong number. 3.8 XK engines were numbered with the VAS prefix and appeared from 1959 September in the 150S Hope this is helpful Peter

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
