Car returns to auction in '07

    Auction description:
    Blenheim Palace, Oxford
    Saturday 14th July 2007
    Lot 446
1958 Jaguar XK150 SE Drophead Coupe
    Registration no: UWF 997
    Chassis no: S827014DN
    Estimate: £38,000-45,000

This original UK righthand drive car has a number of interesting aspects to it. The Heritage certificate accompanying the car confirms the chassis number from which you can deduct that it is an early car. The 14th righthand drive car built in fact. It also has SE (Special Equipment) specification; this includes wire wheels, a manual with overdrive gearbox and front foglights. Whilst the front foglights have since been taken off, the remainder are still very much in evidence. A comprehensive restoration took place in at some point in the late 80's, early 90's as well as more recent considerable expenditure since 2002. One of the previous owners was, in fact, none other than Gary Moore, an influential guitarist famous for his part in the line-up of ever several notable rock bands, Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and Skid Row to name but three. The paintwork is excellent as is the mohair hood and UWF 997 will be presented with a full 1 year test certificate. A fine example for the driver or investor in you.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
