Seller's description:
1958 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe
This particular Drophead-Coupe was restored during the mid-1990’s to a high standard. Featuring a replacement engine and with a new five-speed gearbox fitted, the car was restored and rebuilt to enjoy distance touring and provide comfort on long journeys.
Maintained throughout ownership of over thirty years, the XK was used extensively by its current keeper for international tours and rallies. Having completed the Highlands Rally, the owner subsequently embarked upon more ambitious timed events throughout Europe including tours of the Alps and eventually a rally from London to Lisbon. The historic analogue rally clocks remain as testament to the cars endeavours.
The British Racing Green paintwork and tan leather interior provide a traditional feel to this XK150 while the aluminium bucket seats offer added comfort and support for both occupants. The interior is further enhanced by the walnut dashboard and tan wool carpets and although the paintwork is now beginning to show signs of its age, the car features a wonderful feeling of use and enjoyment which undoubtedly helps add to its appeal and usability. Having restored a similar example last year, it would be possible to make the paintwork look like new and enhance the value of the vehicle accordingly if it was considered necessary.
Chrome wire wheels and excellent exterior brightwork help to create a very useable and good looking XK150 that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
