Car was at auction 9/12

Auction description:
15 Sep 2012 2:30 p.m. Chichester,Goodwood
Collectors' Motor cars
146
1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4-Litre Drophead Coupé
Registration no. 299 TOD
Chassis no. S827338BW
Engine no. V6416-8
Sold for £67,580 inc. premium

This example of one of the most sought-after of XK150 variants was owned from 1965 to 2006 by John Hall, a senior musician in HM Band of Scots Guards, during whose ownership it was laid up for almost 30 years. '299 TOD' was then the subject of a 'ground upwards' restoration. The body was rebuilt with new floors, boot floor, sills and 'A' and 'B' pillars, etc and then finished in Jaguar Carmen Red using modern paints and rust-proofing materials.

The chassis was prepared, painted and built up with all new suspension and steering joints and bushes; new brake lines and hoses; rebuilt brake callipers and servo; and new master cylinders. All new brake discs, wheel bearings and chromed wire-wheels were fitted, the latter shod with Vredestein Classic Sprint tyres.

The car was fitted with a rebuilt engine (re-bored block, new pistons, crankshaft and camshaft bearings, and timing chains) and the cylinder head modified for the use of unleaded fuel. The SU carburettors were overhauled, the water pump rebuilt and a new fuel pump and high-efficiency radiator core fitted. A five-speed manual gearbox has been installed, replacing the original automatic, together with a new diaphragm clutch. The car has a new wiring loom and a high-torque starter motor. The interior has been trimmed in grey leather with grey carpet, and the hood's wooden framing replaced. Aldridge Trimming of Wolverhampton manufactured a new hood in black mohair complete with grey headlining and a black hood envelope.

'299 TOD' has covered fewer than 2,000 miles since its completion in 2008 and is described by the vendor as in generally excellent condition. The car is offered with old-style continuation logbook, an original handbook, current road fund licence, MoT to March 2013, Swansea V5C document and has a photographic record of its restoration.

Does anyone know where this car is now?
I have tried the JDC and the XK Club but have drawn a blank!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
