This 1958 Jaguar XK150 is a left-hand-drive open two-seater model that was completed on March 19, 1958 and distributed in the US through Jaguar Cars of New York. The car was reportedly acquired by the seller approximately 15 years ago as a partially-refurbished project that is said to have been subsequently brought to completion with a repaint in dark green, a reupholstered interior, and a rebuild of the 3.4L inline-six. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a beige soft top, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, an alternator, Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, an upgraded fusebox, and chrome wire wheels with knock-off hubs. This XK150 is being offered with a spare set of wheels, removed parts, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, a service manual, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Cotswold Blue with a blue soft top, the car was repainted its current shade of dark green around a decade ago by Unique Creations of Tucson, Arizona. Damage to the A-pillar was repaired by Scott Fricks Automotive of Tucson, Arizona in 2011, and the seller notes that the beige soft top was installed and the bumpers re-chromed during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a tan boot cover, front fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome 16” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 215/70 Cooper Discoverer HTP tires. A full-size spare is housed within the trunk. Stopping power is provided by Dunlop discs at all four corners. A set of four green-finished 16” wire wheels accompanies the vehicle.
The cabin was trimmed in blue from the factory and was reupholstered in tan leather by Sew Simpson Sports Car Upholstery of Elmhurst, Illinois in 2016. The seat frames were also rebuilt at that time. Color-coordinated trim adorns the dashboard and door panels, and brown carpets line the floors. Appointments include lap belts, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and a locking glovebox.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The combination gauge, fuel gauge, and ammeter were rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments of Mamaroneck, New York. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 78k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4L inline-six has reportedly been rebuilt and features dual SU carburetors as well as a straight-port cylinder head. Additional equipment is said to consist of a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, a high-torque starter, upgraded fusebox, negative ground conversion, and an alternator in place of the factory generator. The removed radiator, generator, starter, and fusebox are included in the sale.
The engine block stamping is shown above. A photo of the cylinder head stamping is provided in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and identification numbers, along with a completion date of March 19, 1958.
