Car to be at auction 9/11
www.bonhams.com/usa/auction/19385/lot/714/

Auction description:
Sale 19385 - Fairfield Concours d'Elegance, Exceptional Collectors' Motorcars and Automobilia, 17 Sep 2011 to 18 Sep 2011
Connecticut, Westport

Lot No: 714•
Barn discovery, 34,000 miles from new
1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Liter Roadster
Chassis no. S830228
Engine no. V3542-8
A striking black XK 150 Roadster, trimmed in red leather, was delivered through Jaguar Cars New York to Mr. William Mik of Columbus Ohio in the summer of 1958. Over the next fifty plus years, the XK remained in the Columbus vicinity, owned by two gentlemen and covering a mere 34,000 miles.

Today the 150 is remarkably intact, having been painted and trimmed years ago. The matching number engine appears untouched and runs strong with good oil pressure. This represents a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic classic in a most sought after, original, color way.

A Jaguar Heritage Certificate accompanies the car.

Estimate: US$45,000 - 55,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
