concours.com.au/for_sale/jaguar-xk150s-3-4-ots/
Description:
The original distributor in Frankfurt, Germany, received the car on the 1st of October, 1958, marking the start of an incredible journey. From there, this XK150S embarked on an adventure that spanned continents.
On the 8th of September, 1969, owner Hector Schroedl took the car from Munich to Kinshasa, Zaire. Four years later, in June 1973, the car was shipped from Kinshasa to Lunada, Angola, and by July 4th, it took to the skies, flown to Salisbury, Rhodesia (modern-day Harare, Zimbabwe).
After nearly a decade of ownership, Captain Schroedl passed the torch to Maurice Fleishman in 1978, who enjoyed the car for 27 years before selling it to Dave Stronge on the 19th of March, 2005. Stronge brought the XK150S to Perth, Australia, where respected Jaguar XK restorers Memory Lane embarked on aa meticulous restoration in April, 2005. World renowned Jaguar historian Terry McGrath of Western Australia was called upon as a restoration consultant ensuring that every detail of the restoration was completed with absolute accuracy. The 4 year restoration concluded in 2009 and the car presents today in this condition.
The car’s life in Australia continued when the current owner acquired it on the 22nd of June, 2011. Since then, the vehicle has received continued care, including a carburettor overhaul in 2012, an engine rebuild in 2016-17 by Jaguar specialist Anthony Arditto, and a new exhaust fitted in 2017.
Recently, Concours Sportscar Restoration has carried out a comprehensive service, ensuring the vehicle is in prime condition. Fitted with correct 16″ wire wheels and new Radar Dimax Classic 185R16 tyres, the XK150S feels as good as it looks and is now ready for a new chapter with its next owner.
This example still retains its original operating, maintenance, and service handbook, along with the following matching numbers:
Chassis: S831183DN
Engine: VS1345-9
Body: F16186
Gearbox: JLS41713CR
The car boasts a tremendous history and records file, with countless receipts and invoices for work completed throughout its history, dating right back to its earlier stages of life. Import documents for every country that that car has resided in are included which makes for fascinating reading, retracing the journey that this car has been on.
Total meticulous restoration, full numbers matching and recommissioned ready for immediate enjoyment, this magnificent example of the ultimate of all XK’s is proudly offered for sale by Concours Sportscar Restoration.
