This 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe was refurbished in the 1990s and has been repainted in red, and its tan leather interior was redone in 2022. Powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the car features a Sand soft top, 16″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, driving lights, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and lap belts. The vehicle has been titled in Indiana since at least 1998, and it was purchased by the current owner around 2010. This XK150 is now offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, recent service records, and an Indiana title.
The car was repainted in Carmen Red during the 1990s refurbishment, according to the seller, and the chrome was replated. The frame for the folding Sand soft top was sandblasted and epoxied in 2022. Other features include driving lights, a one-piece windshield, fender-mounted side mirrors, fender vents, bright trim, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes imperfections in the paint.
Chrome-finished 16″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185R16 Michelin X radial tires. A spare wire wheel with a Martin Custom Tire whitewall tire is stored under the trunk floor. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The interior was refurbished in 2022 by Muncie Imports & Classics of Muncie, Indiana, in an undertaking that cost nearly $23k. The adjustable front seats have been retrimmed in tan leather complemented by a leather-wrapped dashboard. Interior appointments include a wood dashboard, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, rear seats, front lap belts, a cabin heater, a defroster, wind-up door glass, door-panel storage pockets, and beige carpeting.
The Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an embedded clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and an ammeter alongside gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The seller states that the odometer reading is not accurate, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3,442cc inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 210 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The clutch cylinders were replaced in 2017. Corrosion is noted on underbody components.
The car’s chassis number is S838334DN, whereas the Indiana title omits the “DN” suffix.
The Indiana title notes that it is a duplicate document, lists the model name as “Unknown”, and carries a “Not Actual” odometer brand.
