Car to be at auction 11/10
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/WService=wslive_pub/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 19040 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 13 Nov 2010
Byron Kennedy Hall, Moore Park, Sydney
Lot No: 264
1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe
Registration no. Not Registered
Chassis no. S838604
Engine no. VA1348-8

Built in December 1959, this superbly restored XK150 Drophead Coupe began life as an American market car. As part of the body-off rebuild, the car has been sensitively upgraded to provide reliable, strong performance combined with a more relaxing, comfortable driving experience. Repainted in the traditional British Racing Green, fully re-trimmed in Connolly leather upholstery and the appearance beautifully set off by 72-spoke wire wheels, this XK150 is equally stunning from the outside and behind the wheel. Currently registered in Queensland, the car will be sold unregistered.

Estimate: AUD 85,000 - 100,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
