Left hand drive.
This XK 150 DHC's documented history dates to 1981 when it was located in a barn belonging to Mr. John Law of New Jersey. Needing a complete restoration it was sold to Mr. Marc Lemchen of Manhattan and West Hampton, New York for $4,500. Mr. Lemchen purchased the Jaguar because his father had once owned an XK150. The restoration began immediately and lasted approximately three years. A majority of the work was completed by West Hampton Coach Works Ltd., which is now known as Manhattan Motors of West Hampton Beach. It is understood that during the renovation the original automatic transmission was replaced by the more desirable and factory correct four-speed manual with overdrive. The car was then sold to the current Jaguar enthusiast in June of 1991. After a number of years of enjoyment the car was repainted in the summer of 1999 using PPG concept acrylic urethane. It has since been shown at two JCNA sponsored events and has collected trophies on both occasions. The last JCNA score was 9.962 in September 2000 in the Driven Class, underscoring the care the current owner has taken in preserving this DHC. Further, we are told that many mechanical improvements have been made including replacing motor mounts, rebuilding carburetors, polishing engine heads, replacing all hoses and belts, fuel lines, gauges, fuel pump, mufflers, and ignition switch. As one would expect from such meticulous maintenance, a large file of receipts accompanies the car. This is a great opportunity to acquire a well-presented, quintessential British sports car.

Sellers description:
Very nice 1960 Jaguar XK150, which was the last era of this early XK body style. This XK150 was meticulously restored about a decade ago, and has been fitted with a new convertible top, and exhaust in 2008. It was finished in Old English White, with an Ox Blood interior. This XK has been fitted with a 3.8 motor which delivers more horsepower than earlier 3.4 motors. This Jaguar XK150 runs and drives excellent, and would be a great car to drive around town or to take to rallies.

Auction description:
1960 would be the final year of the XK150, and this example of one of the last cars is offered here for your consideration. Meticulously restored about a decade ago, the car is finished in traditional Old English White over Oxblood Maroon leather and a brand-new convertible top just earlier this year. While not the original engine, a slightly later 3.8 litre Jaguar XK6 engine replaced the one fitted by Jaguar for a considerable boost in performance and of course considerably-added driving pleasure . Also new just a few months ago was a complete correct dual exhaust system. The ideal XK for comfortable touring or just the occasional trip around town between shows with its drop-head style convertible top, conventional roll-up windows and other creature comforts, this XK150 is an example sure to impress even the discriminating Jaguar collector.

Auction description:
Lot No: 241
1960 Jaguar XK150
Coachwork by Drophead Coupe
Chassis no. S838943BW
Engine no. VA2039-9
Meticulously restored about a decade ago, this XK-150 convertible was fitted with a new black convertible top and exhaust system in 2008. Finished in Old English White, it has an Oxblood leather interior and is equipped with wire wheels. It has the optional 3,781cc engine, which makes 220bhp with 8.0 to 1 compression and twin SU sidedraft carburetors, and four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, replacing the original automatic unit. Most 1960 XK-150s were coupes; just 2,489 convertibles were built, 586 with the larger engine. The engine compartment has been detailed to highly presentable condition. This Jaguar represents an excellent opportunity to acquire the last of the traditional XK sports cars to rally, show or simply enjoy on the road.
Estimate: $100,000 - 120,000
