Ebay item 6/1/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Jaguar-XK-120-ROADSTER/332670362740
Car has a buy it now price of $130,000 for 6 days, seller barry5506, 74k miles.

Sellers description:
1954 XK-120 Roadster. Carmen red exterior with biscuit interior. Excellent original car (except perishables). Runs and sounds great with dual SS exhausts. This outstanding car is a driver that also wins at Concours! One of the last produced XK-120's and one of the best examples of this iconic/classic car: a beautiful work of "rolling art" that can only be fully appreciated by the thrill of driving out on the road--No "Trailer Queen," this "Beauty Queen" lives to move, holds curves, and turns heads.

Seeing the car for the first time while judging other British marques, the present owner sought out her own lovely "baby" for 5 years before finding the perfect combo that possessed all that is essential to an outstanding XK-120: a sexy color, dual exhausts, molded (non-chrome) signal lights and no rear view mirror on the fenders to distract from the flowing lines of the car, fender skirts on the rear wheels and beauty rings on all and, most importantly, a driver car in superior original condition that could be enjoyed on the road. Finally, after looking at dozens of cars in numerous states, this gem was found in Malibu, CA. The location proved perfect because after the car was fully vetted locally, it was driven up the coast on beautiful Big Sur Highway 1 and then taken over to XK's Unlimited facility in San Luis Obispo, CA (recognized as the premier classic restoration Jaguar shop). The car was left there for a couple of months where a thorough and extensive mechanical overhaul was completed with everything either replaced with proper, authentic parts or fully repaired as necessary. The car has now been well maintained and lovingly cared for ever since. Complete service records are available. All original tools are included along with the folding top, side curtains, and car manual. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms the authenticity and originality of this fine roadster.

Car now offered at:

Seller's description:

Location: Springtown, Pennsylvania, 18081

VIN #: 675379

Mileage: 74,140

Transmission: Manual

Condition: Excellent

Exterior: CARMINE RED

Interior: BISCUIT

1954 XK-120 Roadster. Fiery red exterior with biscuit interior. Excellent original car (except perishables). Runs and sounds great with dual SS exhausts. A driver that wins over “Trailer Queens” at Concours! One of the last produced XK-120s, this gem is a top example of that iconic/classic car, a quintessential work of rolling art to be fully appreciated by being driven out on the road.

The present owner (who judges at Concours d'Elegance events) searched for 5 years for the exceptional car that had all elements essential to an outstanding XK-120 combination: power and sleekness with no disturbances to break the design; a sexy, racy color, dual exhausts, molded (non-chrome) signal lights and no rear view mirror(s) on the fenders to distract from the flowing lines of the car, skirts on the rear wheels and beauty rings on the front. Most importantly, a driver in superior original condition that turns heads while enjoying exercise. After looking at dozens of cars in numerous states, this “Yes!” was found in Malibu, CA. The location proved advantageous because after the car was fully vetted locally, the owner and her husband drove it up the coast on beautiful Big Sur Coast Highway 1 and then took it over to XK's Unlimited facility in San Luis Obispo (recognized as the premier classic restoration Jaguar shop). The car was in fine condition but (perfection desired) was left there for a couple of months where a thorough and extensive mechanical overhaul was completed and everything either replaced with proper, authentic parts or fully repaired as necessary.

“Flame” has been lovingly maintained and garaged (pajamas in winter) ever since. Complete service records are available. All original tools are included along with the folding top, side curtains, and car manual. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms the authenticity and originality of this outstanding car.

This is one of the best examples of XK-120s to be found, and it is well priced at $120,000 for a private sale. The owner decided not to go to auction (even though she was told it would sell for at least this price) because a direct sale significantly benefits both buyer and seller. If you add in the normal Buyer's premium to be added on at auction, this price via a direct sale equates to a much better deal for a buyer.

Price: $120,000 obo

Current bid: $50,100 reserve not met 2 bids buy it now price: $149,500, seller classicautomall, 1 day left in auction. Car now said to be in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, 74k miles.

Seller's description:

For consignment, a stunner in the beautiful form of a Jaguar XK120 from 1954. This car is in spectacular condition, the beneficiary of a frame off restoration, has nicely presenting paint with a few flaws down low, chrome, and a pristine leather interior. It is all buttoned up and is definitely a turnkey classic that will most likely continue to increase in value.

Exterior

Super straight steel that has spent some serious time on an English wheel, all forms together to make this centerfold of a car. With its small vertical oval grille, to the bug eye headlights which gracefully melt into the fenders, and the extreme V shaped hood and all bathed in very nice red paint, we do note some cracking of the paint down low on the body. Low slung doors melt into the curved rear fenders which flank a wonderfully curved to almost a point rear deck. The side view of this car is a killer, and the body matching red wheel coverings with a chrome ring and center framed by black wall tires are simply classic and classy. One top is a tan canvas top which when in the up position, gives the car a completely different look. A clear plastic rear window offers up plenty of view to the back of this car. A shout out to the trim, bumpers and badging as it presents as near perfect. The front has split bumpers that curve with the lines of the car, and on the rear are vertical push bars.

Interior

There is nothing more comfortable than the overstuffed bucket seats. They have tuck and roll inserts and smooth bolsters, and a wonderful patina of light usage that time can only render. All in beautiful tan, these seats are simply put, luxurious with their low backs joining in the center. Just looking the door panels over, it is amazing the undulating curves that are going on with the tan leather panels interacting with the metal doors. Having a go by sitting inside and peering at the beautiful tan leather angled boxed dash, complete with Smiths blackface gauges, it is just a beautiful sight. The original steering wheel fronts this dash and has a super neat 3D Jaguar face in the center. Tan plush carpet covers the floors and shows in very clean condition.

Drivetrain

Under the long hood is an equally long 3.4 liter DOHC inline 6 cylinder that runs well but may need some carburetor adjustment. It is fed fossils and air by 2 SU H6 carburetors and is attached to a 4-speed manual transmission. Noted Lucas electrics are in like new condition which is exactly how you'd desire these components...new!

Undercarriage

Some surface rust, but a solid structural steel frame painted black toes up most of this space.

Drive-Ability

A push of the starter button and the engine immediately comes to life. It has a wonderful purr (note it's a Jaguar!). Off we go for our tool around the Classic Auto Mall acreage, and we get a nice smooth ride, good acceleration, and responsive steering all be it from the large wheel.

Simply put a great example with all the right restoration moves performed. Good paint, mechanically excellent, and interior as good as it gets with its gracefully aged leather seats and leather covered dash. Nice lines form this 1954 Jag rolling art piece which has had some maintenance work recently done with receipts.
