Car survives under different registration number
Trying to find out if it was originally a factory produced SE as it has wire wheels, overdrive etc
Would the factory records / Heritage certificate state if it was ?
Also why the change of registration - Is it when DVLA went computerised and it was a late DVLA computer registration as it was not taxed at the time ?

    Car now offered at:

    www.classicdriver.com/en/car/jaguar/xk-140/1956/906466

    Seller's description:

    1956 XK140 Roadster

    Mileage 360 mi / 580 km

    Chassis number 807319DN

    Drive  RHD

    Condition  Restored

Exterior brand colour British Racing Green

    Interior colour Green

    Interior type Leather

    Location UK

    Gearbox Manual

Forming part of a three car collection owned by renowned XK restorer and subject matter expert James Sidwell of Sidwell & Co. This particular car is an original right hand drive XK140 Drop Head Coupe. Finished in British Racing Green with green leather interior, the car has been meticulously restored by Sidwell & Co. and has covered virtually no mileage since. This is quite probably the best XK140 available for sale currently. The car is a “matching numbers” vehicle and is finished in a wonderful colour combination. The car has some choice upgrades which make the car just that little more suitable to modern roads, without taking away any of the essence of the XK140 – a high torque starter, dynator and front disc brakes with servo as well as halogen headlights.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
