Ebay item 8/3/23
Opening bid $9,700 reserve not met 3 bids 9 days left in auction, seller coolcatz2, 83k miles
Seller's description:
1954 Jaguar XK120 “S” (SE Special Equipment High HP engine) roadster. CATZ Auto restoration performed the restoration of this car in 2000 with roughly 80,074 miles on it at the time of restoration. This car presented today is an extremely well preserved older restoration with less than 3,000 miles since a total restoration. The rust free car body was stripped to bare metal and repainted a different color than original pastel blue but in correct Glasurit Jaguar silver metallic. All body panels were the originals and the fit and finish is near perfect without any scratches or door dings. The matching numbers head and engine block were totally rebuilt with new pistons, valves, springs, bearings, tensioner, uprated rear seal, water pump, electronic ignition, oil pump, refaced flywheel and new clutch assembly. The current compression is reading 150 PSI consistently. The original radiator was re-cored with a high cooling capacity copper core keeping the original top and bottom tank with ID tag. The car was fitted with a great sounding big bore sports exhaust system. The car was also fitted with uprated front disc brake system then the entire brake system, dual master cylinder and brake lines and rubber hoses were replaced. All ball joints, tie rods and shock absorbers were replaced. New Dayton stainless steel wire wheels with Bridgestone tires wheels were fitted. There was a complete new wiring harness installed using the original gauges that were rebuilt by Nisonger. The original bumpers and chrome were re-plated. The Navy Blue interior (bright sun makes it look lighter than it is) leather kit by GW Bartlett (OSJI) was installed with a uprated HARTZ navy blue canvas top. The top bow assembly is currently removed to gain an additional 2” of leg room and will be re-installed and comes with the car. The car was shown at several Jaguar concour events and received 98.9 points. The car took several Jaguar event first place trophies. We purchased the car in 2009 after the owner moved from New York to Florida and he lost his garage space. The car was stored in our climate controlled facility since restoration over the winters and then after purchase tucked away in our toy box. The car went to a few car shows but mostly sat here. We went through the car and changed the fuel, oil/filter, spark plugs, brake fluid and installed a new battery anticipating this sale. The car runs perfectly and all devices work as original. This car is ready for a new home. This car is sold with a clear New York properly signed off registration (title). This car is being sold as-is without any warranty or returns accepted.
Note, listed VIN F34728S

The car was factory-finished in Pastel Blue and is reported to have undergone rust repair on the rear fenders prior to a repaint in its current shade of silver around 23 years ago. Exterior details include a removable dark blue soft top, chrome-finished bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets.
Stainless steel 16” Dayton wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with Bridgestone Ecopia EP02 tires. A matching spare is housed in the rear storage area. Braking is via front discs and rear drums. The rear wheel cylinders were rebuilt and the brake fluid was changed in preparation for the sale.
Originally trimmed in red, the interior has been reupholstered in blue leather with gray carpets. Lap seatbelts are fitted for both occupants.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 140-mph Smiths speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The gauges have reportedly been rebuilt, and the five-digit odometer shows 84k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six was reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment and features dual SU carburetors, electronic ignition, and an aftermarket exhaust system. An oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale, and the battery and spark plugs were replaced.
The engine block stamping is shown above, and a photo of the cylinder head stamping is provided in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. Areas of corrosion on the underside were painted over in preparation for the sale.
The Production Record Trace certificate shows the factory colors and identification numbers.
The car does not have a title, as New York does not issue them for cars of its age. It is offered with a transferable New York registration. The registration expired in 2010 and uses the engine number as the VIN.
