Car to be at auction 9/10
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Model XK150 Roadster
First Registered 1958
Registration No VXE987
Engine No V5782-8
Chassis No S820010
MOT July 2011
Colour White
The example offered here was acquired by the vendor in 1998 and two years later was the subject of a major restoration by Grace Jaguar. This restoration encompassed an engine overhaul, body restoration, new interior, new stainless exhaust, new and uprated brakes, new wire wheels and tyres and uprated suspension. The car was then given to Vicarage in Wolverhampton where it gained rack and pinion power steering, an aluminium radiator, a further brake upgrade, new Bucket type seats and other general service works.

Finished in white with red interior and cockpit roll, the car is described as being in A1 condition. It has the 3.4 litre XK engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission and has been used sparingly in dry weather. The car is stored in a heated garage when not in use.

Estimate £75000-95000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
