XK150 Jaguar DHC that has completed successfully 4- major US Rally's
This 1960 Jaguar XK150 body and paint are in excellent condition, it was given a complete top-to-bottom restoration, and the quality of the work is excellent. We do not know the exact timeline for restoration but it shows as if it was done not too long ago, though we cannot say how old the restoration is. We do know that in 2012 the car was sent to British Auto in Scottsdale Arizona and had an extensive amount of upgrades to ensure the car was capable of completing the Copper State 1000 and the Colorado Grand, another 1000-mile rally. The car performed flawlessly and finished both rallies with no issues. In fact while it is not an S spec Jag (an S would have triple carbs and not two), that being said the 3.8 head and the double carbs on this car run so well that the car was passing another S spec car on the Colorado Grande and that S spec owner is now sending his car to the Scottsdale Arizona mechanic to have his S dialed in by them. The car has completed 4 major 1000 mile rally's and has been faultless, never even overheating as they so commonly do in desert temps. It has the aluminum large radiator and an electric fan which does a great job keeping them cool. Another great story was the previous race owner said someone shot a pic of him stopping on a hill in the Grande and bringing a bottle of Prestone to a Ferrari 330 GTC that was overheating and the Jag was as cool as a cucumber. This car is made and proven to be driven hard and won't let you down.
The upgrades consisted of upgraded brakes to XKE, a new T5 manual trans, a custom aluminum radiator, and a new modern alternator, among other items. This Jag is for the jag enthusiast who is familiar with these models and wants one that is thoroughly sorted out and extremely drivable and reliable. The current owner purchased it in 2013 after the car had completed its rally career and kept it in his private collection. He also had the interior completely redone in its current Biscuit leather and upgraded the steering wheel, burly Dash etc. This Jag has had a pampered life for the last 12 years.
The owner has decided to offer for sale to let someone else enjoy this beautiful Jag. The car did start its life out as a black car and auto trans, we have the heritage certificate and it spent most of its life on the West Coast and it shows it is a rust-free car and still looks incredible. It also retains its matching numbers engine, we do have the auto transmission as well.
